![]() ![]() The principal seems to be in "about to retire" mode and that is unfair to the kiddos' whose education is at stake. I'm an educator also and had I known this was the energy in the school, I likely would have chosen a different middle school for my kids. It's no wonder the school is rated a 6/10 on Greatschools. So far.I HATE having my children enrolled here. I don't want to be made to feel like I'm a bother because I have questions about things that haven't been communicated proactively. I recognize this is middle school and there is a demographic of educators that believe parents should be a little less involved, but my children are 11- I'm going to be super involved to ensure they are having a positive and challenging experience. The soil at that part of town is very good, being a little acid with moisture but good drainage. I watered well the fist 5 years and they thanked me by growing super fast. I planted four green and one golden variety at our previous house 20 years ago. When it starts filling out in the spring it really attracts attention. When I've inquired about school happenings, I am often met with curt communication both in person and via email. I love the special green color of the dawn redwood tree. Emails often seem rushed and not fully thought out and the tone is rude and condescending from the Principal to the office staff! I have had mostly positive interactions so far with the teachers, but right now this school's communication and interactions leave quite a bit to be desired. This school has THE worst school-parent communication.
